Coal Harbour + Stanley Park Engagement: CHANDRA + JEFF

I always have fun with my couples and always feel so lucky to be able to be a part of their wedding and their marriage.  I’m lucky enough to say that I love and get along with all of my couples.  But I have to admit that Chandra and Jeff hold a special place in my heart.  For starters… I’ve known Jeff since we were 10 years old.  Somewhere in there at least (I’m getting older and can’t seem to remember that far back :P no comments please).  Anyway, Jeff and I went to elementary school and highschool together and now I feel so honoured to be there to capture all the love on his wedding day.  And he couldn’t have picked a more awesome girl.  Chandra is a very talented graphic designer and super fun and stylish.  These two are adorable together and super funny and witty.  I know we’re in for a barrel of laughs at the wedding (actually I should say weddings as we’re in for two days of fun).  Oh, and I have to say that Jeff proposed to Chandra in front of the pyramids in Egypt.  HOW GREAT IS THAT!!! *sigh*

For their session we headed down to coal harbour, strolled over to the new convention centre and then made a mad dash for the beach before the sun went down … and we barely made it.  Thanks guys for such an awesome session.  I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE WEDDING!!! Only 106 days left :P

And I seem to have started a tradition of posting my favourite image first - so here it is!  I LOVE IT!!!

Whitecliffe Park - West Vancouver Family Portraits

The weather has been so great this last week and I sometimes have to pinch myself when I get to work with such wonderful people in such wonderful places.  This family was no exception.  We planned to meet at Whitecliffe park where the girls often played as kids.  It was such a wonderful night and this is such a sweet family.  And of course Pepo the dog keeps everyone entertained :)  Enjoy!!!  And stay tuned… there will be more of this family to come in the coming months… just you wait.

Richmond Oval + Iona Beach Engagement - Carmen + Joe

I remember when Carmen and Joe came to meet me.  These two were so cute and we laughed the whole time during the consult - I knew they were going to have a GREAT wedding.  So when they called back  I was so excited to be able to be a part of their wedding.  When it came time for their engagement session I was ready to go with excitement.  We planned to do their session at the Richmond oval to incorporate a little architecture before heading over to Iona Beach.  Thanks to some crazy Friday rush hour traffic the sunset timing was perfect.  And the family of geese added a nice touch when we arrived at Iona Beach (see this post).

Carmen and Joe are beautiful people inside and out.  Their love for each other is so honest and a privilege for me to capture.  Thanks guys for such a great session.

This is a little out of order but this is MY FAVOURITE image from their session.  Had to post it first.  I *heart* the love and peace you can feel between them.  *sigh*

GLOSS BEAUTY STUDIO

Last fall I did one of my favourite shoots EVER thanks to Renee and Sabrina at Gloss Beauty Studio.  These girls are super super super talented and they called me to do a photoshoot with them so that they could update their website.  These ladies did a fabulous job  and can do things with makeup that I can’t even imagine.  Everyone had such a great time - it was like our very own America’s Next Top Model set (or CNTM).  And how could you not have fune with a great place to shoot (thanks Joy - the wonderful designer at Amour Event Designs for your studio space), all the fabulous models, makeup makeup makeup, snacks, hair design, more makeup and more fun.  I can’t wait to do it all again and collaborate on future projects.  Be sure to check out Renee and Sabrina’s work and more photos from the shoot at Gloss Beauty Studio.  Renee is available here in Vancouver and Sabrina is available in Calgary.  Thanks girls for the awesome day!

A few behind the scenes shots.  CHECK OUT ALL THE MAKEUP!!! And there is the lovely Renee working her magic.

Sabrina applying the finishing touches.

Then it was on to shooting…

and I think this one was my FAVOURITE shot from the whole day.  I love the gold and red.  GORGEOUS!!!

The Wong Family

Well, it feels like forever ago, but just a few weeks ago on a BEAUTIFUL halloween afternoon I got to hang out with the Wong Family at Granville Island.  I got the call (or I should say email) for this session to celebrate little Landon’s 1st Birthday - how exciting!!!  Poor little Landon had to be woken up from his nap for this shoot so it took a little while for him to wake up and have a good time.  But when he did, it was magic.  This is such a wonderful family, so full of love and laughter.  I had a wonderful time with you Wong Family, thank you for having me along to play and have fun.  Enjoy your images.

Anya & Scott - Maternity - Vancouver Portrait Photographer

Anya & Scott were one of my wonderful wonderful couples from 2007 and I can still remember their amazing wedding.  They are happily expecting a new addition to their family and since they were in town recently for another family wedding we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a maternity session.  I’m steering my maternity sessions into more of a lifestyle feel and was so excited for this one.  Anya looks AMAZING, in fact better than amazing and I just love her gorgeous babyt belly.  The beach in Dundarave just made the shoot perfect.  The lighting couldn’t have been better and is my absolute hands down favourite - just before sunset and all yummy and golden. I could do photoshoots like this everyday.  We made it through the sweltering heat but at least the water was super warm and nothing beats shooting a beautiful couple while having my feet in the ocean :)

Enjoy a few of my favourites of this adorable family - ANYA YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!  I can’t wait to meet Baby Trousdale!!!

Meagan & Etienne’s Engagement Photos - Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Well there is so much I could say about how amazingly amazing and awesomely awesome :) these two are but I just really really want to show you their photos :)  We decided that since they’re from Ontario, that the wedding is in Ontario and that they will eventually move back there they needed some good shots of the coast.  So we opted for the trees, the mountains and the beach - I think we can say we got it .  ENJOY you two!!!

Okay I say it every time and every time I mean it, this time is no exception - THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SHOTS EVER!!!

LOCKING FAMILY - Vancouver Family Portrait Photographer

I’m happy to say that one of my great friends, her husband and their band of beautiful girls have moved back to North Van after living in the land of Calgary.  I don’t have many words today, other than I’m glad they’re here, they’re all beautiful and I feel so lucky to be able to watch such a great family.  Seriously, these girls are all absolutely gorgeous.

Baby Owen

A few weeks ago we were on the island for a family wedding (wonderful post to come soon - I promise) as well as visit family, family and more family.  It was a great weekend for hanging out and we were lucky enough to hang out with the Smith family (my husbands cousins) and get to know Baby Owen better.  This little guy is super duper cute with amazing blue eyes and the cutest little smile ever.  Enjoy some of the photos from our visit.

Here is Baby Owen with Mom and Grandma Maria

Someone was having a little trouble with all the attention - but mom makes things better

See I told you mom makes him feel better

Here’s what I mean about those amazing blue eyes

Dad does an amazing job at making baby O happy too

BECKY & KAISER Are Getting Married!

Today was another gorgeous day with blue skies and warm sunshine and I was lucky enough to spend it hanging out in Stanley Park with Becky and Kaiser as well as the wonderful Laura Ann from Laura Ann Cinema.  I just recently met Becky and Kaiser thanks to the lovely Alicia at Dreamgroup who is planning their small Canadian wedding ceremony for this May.  After today I can’t wait for their wedding.  These two are super fun and cute together and definitely have a silly side.   We met in the park at the totem poles and so we put them to use right away.  After that we strolled through the park and over to the lighthouse.  Thanks so much Becky and Kaiser for such a fun session - Enjoy just this tiny sneak peek of your amazing images.
