Granville Island Engagement - Devi + Vijay

Devi and Vijay are just wonderful, wonderful people.  They are super laid back and sweet and the way they are together is just a joy to watch.  I can tell that the love they have for each other is deep in their hearts and is amazingly gentle and kind.  They have the best laughs and have an amazing ability to be busting a gut one second and then be deep in thought the next.

Thanks for exploring Granville Island with me.  I love all the colour we found.  I had an amazing time with you guys.  Watching you both dance on the back dock while that guy sang and played his guitar will be a moment I won’t forget.

I can’t wait for your wedding -  only 38 more days :)

I hope you enjoy!

Granville Island Engagement - Natania + Erik

Natania and Erik are two of the sweetest people… and I’m not just saying that because Erik works for a large candy company ;P  These two are infectious and the way they love each other is so joyful.  I love the comfort they have in each other and the effortless way they are together.  Erik constantly makes Natania laugh and her smile is beautiful (of coursed this is helped by me encouraging him to tickle her).  We planned this session around their many walks to Granville Island with their sweet doggie Sophie and around their love for Lee’s Donuts.  Mmmmmm… I have a feeling Scott and I will now have constant cravings for these awesome donuts.

Thanks again Natania and Erik for all the laughs and for toughing out the rain.  I can’t wait for your wedding this summer at the Vancouver Rowing Club.  And Natania, Let me just say AGAIN - YOU HAVE AMAZING EYES!!!

Love you guys!

SPRING IS HERE - Vancouver Cherry Blossoms

Wow!  It’s been 5 months since I last posted a blog post (I’m not counting the “out of office” post in January).

These last 5 months have been the hardest 5 months ever for myself, my husband and his family.   We’ve experienced a huge loss to our family, one that I’m not quite ready to share.  I wasn’t really able to talk about a lot of what was going on and the blog definitely suffered that.  And even now it’s hard to write on this blog because there are just so many thoughts and emotions that we’re still experiencing. A big piece of our life is gone and that affects everything so much.

But it’s spring.  The flowers are blooming and the light that hugs them is beautiful.  The rain is watering everything and life keeps going…

With Spring comes the start of Wedding season and today is the first engagement session of the year.  I’m so excited for the couples I get to work with this summer and I know that today and tomorrow will kick everything off to an amazing start.

The blog posts will flow now, maybe even a bit more often than before.  There are lots of amazing couples and sessions to come.  As hard as these last months have been there have also been some blessings and some great experiences so I want to share those too.  And I’m even planning on posting a few things from last summer that I never got around to sharing.  So stay tuned.

For now I want to share some spring captures.  I love the cherry blossoms!  They’re like big pillows on branches to me.  I love how fluffy they look.  And the smell… heaven.  I thought most of them had gone already with the early spring but there are a few trees outside our house that are blooming right now.  Enjoy the blossoms and other spring colours and leaves I spent time with yesterday.
